Digitizer

Digitizer
Whichever model of Tablet PC you choose, it will have a digitizer of some type. The digitizer takes input from the input device and “tells” the computer its location on the screen. There are three different types of digitizer: the passive digitizer, the active digitizer, and the dual digitizer.

Dual Digitizer
A dual digitizer employs both active and capacitive digitizer technologies. A capacitive digitizer senses the touch of a finger with very little pressure required to register an input. This relatively new technology is ideal for direct onscreen manipulation. A capacitive digitizer allows you to zoom, reduce and manipulate images and applications through the use of gestures.

A dual digitizer provides the ultimate computing experience by combining the accuracy of the active digitizer and the convenience and utility of a capacitive digitizer while allowing the user to seamlessly switch between the two.

Digitizer   Bluetooth Wireless
The integrated Bluetooth® feature provides wireless connectivity for wireless devices at close proximity. For example, Bluetooth can be used to wirelessly transfer/ synchronize data to and from different devices such as PDAs and cellular phones. It also communicates with peripherals such as mice, keyboards, and printers wirelessly, minimizing the constraints and clutter of cables. The typical transfer distance for a Bluetooth device is up to 30 feet. Designed to take advantage of a typical workspace or PAN (Personal Area Network), the purpose of Bluetooth is to simplify the exchange of information and interfacing of devices within a close proximity. When considering Bluetooth devices keep in mind that the system as well as the individual devices must support Bluetooth.

Near Field Communication   Near Field Communication
NFC allows two devices, embedded with NFC chips, to transmit data between each other when they are in close proximity enabling the identification of people and/or bank accounts to a computer. It is a short-range, low-power wireless communication evolved from radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology. By tapping your device on a payment terminal for example, NFC allows you to make payments via a specialized application.

TPM

TPM (Trusted Platform Module)
TPM is a hardware-based security chip that securely stores artifacts such as passwords, certificates or encryption keys, used to authenticate a PC. TPM provides tamper-resistant cryptography to encode this data and keep it safe. The nature of this type of hardware-based cryptography ensures the information stored in the chip is better protected from external software attacks. Trusted Platform Module (TPM) solutions can help play a strong role in assuring compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to protect medical records, as well as Graham-Leech-Bliley, Sarbanes-Oxley, and other regulations that impose privacy and security requirements.

Configurations with Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Pro Downgrade operating systems require inclusion of a TPM module. Upgrading or downgrading TPM modules is not supported.

TPM 1.2
Embedded TPM 1.2 protects digital identification and data, and authenticates you into your network. It also allows you to securely store private keys and certificates for file and folder encryption, Web, email, digital signature, and passwords.

TPM 2.0
Embedded TPM 2.0 performs like version 1.2 and includes updates to a number of TPM commands with support for additional cryptographic algorithms. The key changes to its specification as compared to TPM 1.2 include:
1) Support for additional algorithms
2) Agility of algorithms for use by geographies or markets that require specific-use algorithms
3) Enhancements to the availability of the TPM to applications
4) Enhanced authorization for improved TPM management
5) Additional cryptographic services to enhance the security of platform services

Fingerprint   Biometrics
Fujitsu offers a built-in biometric fingerprint swipe sensor that eliminates the need for managing multiple passwords when accessing the network and managing email accounts and other protected systems. With a simple swipe of the finger, you can quickly and safely log onto the protected system and online accounts without having to enter passwords.

Palm Vein   Palm Vein
The optional palm vein sensor can be used to let users log in to Windows or company systems by simply waving their hands rather than typing in usernames and passwords. Not only does this make it easy to prevent unauthorized access, users will appreciate this hygienic non-contact scanning technology.

Smart Card   Smart Card
The optional Smart Card reader allows you to store passwords and other confidential information on a small plastic card. Smart Cards are extremely convenient and are widely used in employee badges in large enterprises and in government - especially the Department of Defense. They can also be used in conjunction with TPM and the biometric fingerprint sensor for multi-level user authentication.

TCG OPAL Compliant SEDs

TCG OPAL Compliant SEDs
The benefits of selecting a TCG OPAL Compliant SED (Self-encrypted Drive) include:

  • Faster setup time because the drive is built to encrypt data with no “turn-on” feature required.
  • Interoperability based on industry standards versus unique chipset and processor solutions.
  • Encryption is invisible to the user, does not interfere in their workflow and cannot be turned off.
  • Uses hardware-based encryption so that system performance is improved because the encryption workload is moved off the processor and chipset and onto the drive.

Windows 8   Quality and Reliability
The tight interaction between Fujitsu design, engineering, manufacturing and service support creates some of the highest quality products offered in the PC market. In a time when most PCs are assembled by third-party vendors, Fujitsu takes pride in its own world-class design and manufacturing capabilities.

Keyboard Docking Station   Keyboard Docking Station
The optional keyboard docking station extends the functionality of your STYLISTIC® Q736 tablet and turns it into a truly “hybrid” system by providing a backlit keyboard, touchpad, status LEDs, HDMI port, three USB 3.0 ports, a LAN port, external monitor port, and DC power. The docking station connects to the bottom edge of your STYLISTIC Hybrid Tablet, and folds up to create a protective cover over the display. The power keyboard docking station comes with a rechargeable 45WH second battery for extended battery life.

HD Webcam   HD/FHD Camera
The built-in HD or the FHD web camera is a great way to stay in touch with your family, friends and business associates. The handy, versatile camera and its easy-to-use software let you take still pictures or capture video. Use the camera with any of the popular social networks to catch up with old friends and to meet new ones. Do you want to demonstrate a complex process to a colleague in another state? No problem. Do you have items you want to photograph to sell online? It's a snap! Would you like to practice a speech for school and be able to review it? Use the video capture function to record it. Uses for the built-in camera are limited only by your imagination. The camera is located just above the display in the center along with the digital microphone and status indicator light that tells you when the camera is in use.

USB 3   USB 3.0
Universal Serial Bus (USB) 3.0 ports allow you to connect USB devices. USB 3.0 technology is much faster than the previous generations of USB. USB 3.0 transfers data at up to 5Gbps and is backward-compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices, which transfer data at up to 12 Mbps and 480 Mbps, respectively. USB 3.0 ports can be distinguished from USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports by the blue “tongue” in the center of the port.

Ambient Light Sensor

Ambient Light Sensor
An ambient light sensor that automatically senses the light conditions in which the computer is operating. If the lighting is very bright, the brightness of the LCD will increase to make it easier to see the display. Conversely, if it is used in a darkened room, the display will automatically dim. It is a great feature for optimizing your power use, thereby extending the life of the battery. Note that the ambient light sensor is initially disabled when you start your system; it is easily enabled through the Location and Other Sensors section of the Control Panel.
